Stellaris: Biogenesis – Become a Hive Planet, Breed Leviathans, and Terraform the Galaxy

Post by SADAF234 »

Just checked out the new Biogenesis expansion for Stellaris, and it might be one of the wildest updates Paradox has ever released. This thing is packed with biotech weirdness, hive-mind horror, and some seriously ambitious new origin concepts.

Wilderness Origin – You Are the Planet Now
The standout feature? The new Wilderness origin literally lets you play as a sentient planet. No cities, no population management — just you, your biomass, and a galaxy ripe for terraforming. You evolve colossal flora and fauna, spread spores across space, and operate entirely through a Hive Mind structure. It’s a massive shake-up in how you approach the game.

Bioengineering Gone Mad
Two other new origins are also in the spotlight:

Evolutionary Predators gives you full control over genetic traits. You can mix and match perks across phenotypes to build the ultimate species—or some hilariously cursed creations.

Starlit Citadel is a narrative-heavy start where you must survive attacks from aggressive living ships while uncovering ancient mysteries tied to your fortified deep space base.

reed Your Own Leviathan (and Maybe Lose Control of It)
If you’ve ever wanted to raise your own galaxy-smashing kaiju, Biogenesis delivers. One of the new Player Crisis options involves nurturing a cosmic beast from hatchling to planet-slayer. Just… maybe don’t get too attached—it might not stay loyal.

Price & What’s Next
Biogenesis is out now on Steam for £22 / $25 or as part of a £38 / $45 expansion pass.

Paradox says two more expansions are coming this year: one focusing on psionic interdimensional strangeness, and another centered around volcanic civilizations bent on destruction.

Stellaris just keeps getting stranger in the best way. This is peak Paradox sci-fi: systems-heavy, story-rich, and full of possibilities.

Anyone diving into Biogenesis yet? Curious to see how the Wilderness origin plays out in the late game.
