Star Wars Outlaws, Ubisoft’s highly anticipated open-world adventure, is already offering players a chance to expand their experience with a season pass priced at $40. This pass promises to deliver two exciting story packs over the coming months, adding even more depth to the galactic adventure.
New Story Packs: What to Expect
The season pass includes two story expansions: “Wild Card” and “A Pirate’s Fortune.” The first, “Wild Card,” is set to release in Fall 2024. In this mission, players will see protagonist Kay Vess infiltrate a high-stakes Sabacc tournament, where she encounters none other than the charming gambler Lando Calrissian. This story pack not only introduces new gameplay but also comes with a cosmetic bundle named Cartel Ronin.
The second pack, “A Pirate’s Fortune,” is slated for Spring 2025. In this narrative, Kay Vess crosses paths with veteran pirate Hondo Ohnaka, who is on a quest to settle old scores with a dangerous gang of pirates. Hondo Ohnaka, a well-known character from the Star Wars animated universe, adds a gritty pirate edge to the storyline.
Controversies and Clarifications
There was some initial concern that Jabba the Hutt, one of the game's syndicate leaders, would be locked behind a paywall. Ubisoft has since clarified that Jabba will be a prominent figure in the main story, alleviating worries about day-one content being behind an extra purchase.
Pricing and Availability
The season pass is currently only available as part of the game’s Gold and Ultimate editions. The Gold edition, priced at $110, includes the main game along with the season pass, while the Ultimate edition at $130 adds a digital artbook and additional cosmetic items. If you're only interested in the story packs, Ubisoft plans to offer them separately in the future, though pricing details have yet to be confirmed. Based on similar DLC offerings from games like Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, each story pack might be priced around $15, making it potentially more cost-effective to wait for individual releases.
