A new gameplay video for Little Nightmares III has just dropped, offering an unsettling 18-minute glimpse into its two-player cooperative gameplay. In line with its predecessors, this third installment continues to deliver the same atmospheric and unsettling experience that fans of the series have come to love.
The pre-alpha footage showcases the game's playable characters, Low and Alone, as they navigate The Necropolis, a desolate and ominous location. Together, they collaborate to conquer a myriad of obstacles. A notable example is when they're ambushed by a swarm of menacing flying beetles – one character wields a bow to shoot them down, while the other swiftly follows up with a wrench to eliminate the downed threats. However, the most spine-chilling encounter in this preview involves a colossal and terrifying doll aptly named "Monster Baby."
What sets Little Nightmares III apart from its predecessors is the change in the development studio. While Tarsier Studios created the first two games, this latest installment is in the capable hands of Supermassive Games, known for their work on titles like "Until Dawn" and "The Dark Pictures Anthology." The change in development hasn't dimmed the franchise's eerie charm, and fans can expect to delve into the darkness once more.
The game is scheduled to launch next year, making it accessible to a wide array of platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Gamers around the world eagerly await the return to the eerie, nightmarish world of Little Nightmares.
