Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy--Definitive Edition, a bundle of the enhanced versions of GTA III, GTA Vice City, and GTA San Andreas, is now available for purchase on Steam. The trilogy was previously exclusive to the Rockstar Store and required the Rockstar Games Launcher to play. However, the bundle is now Steam Deck compatible and includes Steam achievements for completionists. Additionally, the trilogy is set to arrive on the Epic Games store later in January.
The bundle is currently on sale for 50% off, ending on Thursday, February 2nd. However, it is important to note that a Rockstar Games Social Club user account is still required to play the games, and the Rockstar Games Launcher will run in the background while playing.
It's been several months since the original release of the trilogy on November 18, 2021, which received a poor review from some critics. However, over 100 bugs have been fixed since then, but it might be wise to wait for Steam reviews before making a purchase. Despite its rocky launch, the Grand Theft Auto franchise has been a popular and successful series for years, and the release of these enhanced versions on Steam may provide a new avenue for fans to enjoy the games.
